Stormont Breakdown (2024) Original artwork by Ross Eccles

A4 size pen & watercolour on 300gms art paper.
About the Artwork
A highly colourful piece, deliberately distorted to reflect the political disfunction found in these Parliament Buildings, the seat of the Northern Ireland Assembly. Often referred to as Stormont, the imposing buildings are located on the Stormont Estate, Belfast.
Ross says
The Stormont Assembly has been collapsed for almost two years, to the detriment of the people of Northern Ireland. I have been particularly influenced by the recent strike by 150.000 public sector workers and, this piece is intended to reflect the quite unnecessary political theatrics, that play out in the building.
