About The Artwork
Edinburgh is a city that Ross has visited many times, and he has a special connection to Scotland through his late Mother's heritage. This beautiful piece depicts Edinburgh during the annual Festival of Lights Diwali, where the city becomes filled with lights, colour and sound. Each year dancers fill the streets, moving from High Street to the Ross bandstand.
The Festival of Diwali is a popular festival, originally celebrated by Hindus, Jains, Sikhs and Buddhists but is now celebrated by people the World over. It represents light over darkness, good over evil and hope over anguish. It's a beautiful celebration and one that Edinburgh has embraced for the past few years. This piece really shows the beauty and colour of this historical Scottish city.
