About the Artwork
Aberdovey is a thriving little resort town on Cardigan Bay. Set within the Snowdonia National Park in North Wales, it is a popular holiday and weekend getaway destination for those living in the West Midlands.
Ross says that he often visited Aberdovey when he was a student in Birmingham. In more recent times, he has visited Aberdovey to meet with a few surviving fellow students, to celebrate, what is now, over 60 years since graduation.
Ross has sketched Aberdovey (known as Aberdyfi in the Welsh language) on a number of occasions. This particularly colourful "drones eye" pen & watercolour, is his most detailed painting of the subject to date.
