On a trip to the Connemara shore, I stopped to photograph this old weathered fishing boat and memorized the scene. Painted later in the studio with bold palette-knife impasto in ochre, crimson, gold and cool sea blues, this piece captures the raw texture and fleeting light of Ireland's west coast. A striking, one-of-a-kind original, signed by me both front and rear.
