About the Artwork
The Government Offices, located on Upper Merrion Street, Dublin, house key offices of the Government of Ireland, including the Department of the Taoiseach. Designed by Sir Aston Webb, the foundation stone was laid by King Edward V11 in 1904 and, the building was opened by King George V in 1911.
Ross say's that he & his wife Maura, used to display his art with the Merrion Square Artists Group in the 1990's. So he is familiar with all the major buildings in this area, which have been the subject of his paintings in the past. It is refreshing to create a new artwork which brings back past memories!
