About the Artwork
The subject matter brings back distant memories for Ross, who attended the local Grammar School located close by. He recalls spending many hours studying in this library.
The Library was one of 2,509 libraries built on the philanthropy of the world's richest man in the late 19th and 20th centuries, the Scots American magnate, Andrew Carnegie.
The composition and drawing work is detailed in Ross's unique style prior to the application of small elements of watercolour.
