About the Artwork
Charming Enniskerry is a planned village in the Powerscourt Demesne and dates from the 1840's. Located some 30 minutes south of Dublin City, it is considered to be the gateway to County Wicklow, which is known as The Garden of Ireland.
St. Patrick's Church completed in 1861, was built by Marvyn Wingfield, the 7th Viscount Powerscourt and is sited on high ground on the south side of the village.
This colourful interpretation by Ross, captures the essence of St Patrick's in a new light. It was completed after a recent visit to the churchyard by Ross accompanied by his grandchildren.
