"Athens Acropolis – The Parthenon on the Acropolis was considered the architectural pinnacle of Greek Culture and a “must visit” for architects of my age. No one in the School of Architecture Birmingham had ever visited. So I was the first (1960). I took a few photo’s and was asked to give a presentation to the School of Architecture on my return. There were only 2 or 3 people on the Acropolis when I visited at midday. No security, no nothing! A just parked my scooter and climbed up to the Parthenon & noted the optical illusions or “entasis” that the Parthenon was famous for (with architects)".
